How to bet on Baseball

Baseball is one of the easiest major sports that will show a profit, yet it’s one of the least wagered sports around. This reason is because sports gamblers don’t know how too. Well, here at Sports betting bonus, I will show you just how easy it is.

1. Understand how the money line works

The MoneyLine is the money line established by the odds makers. A point spread is NOT used when you make your pick on who you think will win the game.

It’s important to remember that even though money lines are expressed in units of $100, you do not have to bet that much money. The money line will work just as easily with a $5 or $10 wager as it does with a $100 bet.

Money lines are expressed with a negative number, say -110, or a positive number, say +110. A negative money line number indicates what you must bet to win $100, and a positive money line number indicates what you will win if you bet $100. If you bet $110 on a team with a money line of -110, and they win, you will win $100 (plus return of your original $110 bet). If you bet $100 on a team with a money line of +110, and they win, you will win $110 (plus return of the original $100 bet).

If you bet $11 on a money line of -110, and your bet wins, you will win $10. If you bet $50 on a money line of +110, and win, you will win $55.

Some quality sportsbooks even offer a 10-cent line on baseball (also called the “dime” line), which would net a $160 profit. The “dime” line is especially appealing due to the fact that it offers half the juice as a normal football or basketball bet, so the bettor is charged half as much for making a wager.

2. The Run Line

The run line is essentially a combination of the point spread and the money line rolled into one. The run line uses a constant spread of 1.5 runs, although on very rare occasions you may see it jump to 2.5 runs. The team that is favored on the money line will also be the favored team on the run line.

You are betting on whether or not you think a team will win by more than one run (-1 ½) or stay within one run (+1 ½).

3. Overs & Unders

Bookmaker will post a number and you can bet either over that total or under the total, but there is one essential difference and that rests in the amount of money a bettor must risk to win $100.
